Civil Society Organisations are increasingly expected to show the outcom e of their work. How is this done?
With the focus on Out come Harvesting, this course as part of our M&E Network and the Civil Society Futures prog ram, gives participants opportunity to learn about and explore one new method to help focus on the outcome level.
What is Outcome Harvesting?
Outcome Harvesting is a tool inspired by Outcome Mapping and Utilization Focused Evaluation that is being used worldwide to robustly identify, describe, analyse and interpret outcome and impact-leve l results regardless of whether they were pre-defined.
O utcome Harvesting collects (“harvests”) evidence of what has changed (“outc omes”) and, then, working backwards, determines whether and how an interven tion has contributed to these changes.
Outcome Harvestin g has proven to be especially useful in complex situations when it is not p ossible to define concretely most of what an intervention aims to achieve, or even, what specific actions will be taken over a multi-year period.
< p>Outcome Harvesting is an innovative tool, which is increasin gly being used by organisations and donors e.g. the World Bank.

By the end of the workshop partici pants will have:
The trainers wil l provide tips and insights based on their extensive experiences working wi th OH.
Who is the course for?
Due to great interest in th
e Outcome Harvesting Training course in October 2017, it is our intention t
o organise two courses in 2018. Holding two courses give us the opportunity
to design the courses for two target groups:
1) This course, J
anuary 23rd-25th, is for member organisations of Global Focus with Strategic Partnership Agreem
ent (see link here) with the Foreign Ministry only.
2) In Ap
ril 2018 (dates to be confirmed) we will hold the next open Outcome Harvest
ing Training course. If you are interested in receiving more info about thi
s, please contact Andreas Dybkjær-Andersson at
The course is intended for those wishing to le arn and advance beyond a basic understanding of the 6 OH steps by enriching their understanding of the concepts underpinning OH and, importantly, gain ing confidence, through practical exercises, of how to adapt and apply the steps to different M&E challenges. The course will have a hands-on appr oach focused at enabling the participants to use OH as an M&E tool. The course will provide an opportunity to work on own cases and will facilitat e feedback from other participants and trainers.
The cou rse is intended for those who work with M&E or similar, but no experien ce with Outcome Harvesting is expected before the course. Those with some k nowledge of the OH steps will be able to consolidate their understanding of concepts and steps before deepening their competence and confidence throug h exercises.
Please note: There will be some prepa ration tasks before and follow-up work after, which is part of the course.& nbsp;
