Unpacking the Triple Nexus – understanding realities, blockages, and opportunities
Onsdag 03 Marts 2021, 13:00 - 16:00

Global Focus Nexus Working Group invites members to an online workshop on the operationalisation of the humanitarian-development-peace triple nexus.

On the basis of four case studies in Syria and the Sahel, we will share learning on difficulties, diversities, limitations, and opportunities of the triple nexus, seeking to get a better understanding of the practical realities and jointly reflecting on synergies, challenges, and opportunities. Specifically, the workshop will focus on following:

- What are examples of good nexus practices, including added value of a nexus approach?

- What are the limits and blockages to applying a nexus approach? E.g. when might a nexus approach represent a greater risk than benefit for people of concern?

- What systemic and organisational changes are necessary at all levels (donors, NGOs, government etc.) to adapt a nexus approach?

The workshop is targeting Danish civil society organisations that are actively engaged in nexus programming and thinking and interested in learning more about operationalisation of nexus. Due to limited seats the workshop is primarily for participants from Global Focus´ Nexus Working Group members. There is a maximum of 4-6 participant per organisation and the workshop will require active participation.

The workshop forms part of a learning process which includes a second workshop joined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs scheduled on 14/4 2021. Remember to save the date!

Background materials will be sent out in due time.

We look forward to an open and honest dialogue on Danish CSOs operationalisation of the triple nexus.
